I've never played SW, but I am interested in this game, so I've read up on the original.I have seen some people say they will never play it with only 2, and others who will only play it with 2.
I'm looking forward to playing it with my wife and occasionally 3-player with our kiddo.

I haven't played this version yet. But, as far as SmallWorld goes in general, it is excellent at all player counts. The game is hyper aggressive no matter the player count but with less players it becomes much more cerebral and a little less chaotic as there will be less players actions to account for and less powers/races in play at one time.I assume this version will follow suit.

My wife and me played quite a bit of Small World. We always enjoyed it, but at some point it became obvious to us that the starting player had a much higher chance of winning. So we adjusted the rules a bit: one player picks the race first, while the other player starts.Picking race first ánd be starting player was too much of an advantage in our eyes for 2-player games.

I have played it dozens of times at 2 players. Also at other player counts. I think it works awesome at all counts. It really scales well.↧

Small word has always come with a die. The game uses one die (if you choose to roll it) for your last conquest of the turn), I’m guessing these are just extra for switching it out out if you wanna use a different looking die?
What do they look like? Are they custom in some way? Or they might jut free extra as replacements. People tend to lose die a lot.
